LaunchPad is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a customizable shortcut dashboard. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
LaunchPad does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. No analytics, telemetry, or usage data is gathered. LaunchPad does not have a backend server. No data ever leaves your device.
All shortcuts, groups, settings, wallpaper preferences, and session data are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data remains entirely on your computer and is never transmitted anywhere.
LaunchPad requests the following browser permissions, each used solely for core functionality:
storage — Saves your shortcuts, groups, settings, and session data locally on your device.
topSites — Used during initial setup to suggest your most visited sites as shortcuts.
bookmarks — Allows you to import your existing Chrome bookmarks into LaunchPad groups.
history — Displays your browsing history in the History panel so you can quickly revisit sites.
tabs — Captures favicon URLs for your shortcuts and saves open tabs for the session restore feature.
sessions — Enables restoring recently closed browser tabs.
contextMenus — Adds the "Add to LaunchPad" option to your right-click menu on any webpage.
LaunchPad uses the following external services solely to display content within the extension:
Google Favicon API — Used to fetch website icons for your shortcuts. Only the domain name is sent to retrieve the icon. No personal data is transmitted.
Unsplash — If you choose a wallpaper from the built-in gallery, images are loaded from Unsplash. No personal data is shared with Unsplash.
Apart from these, LaunchPad does not communicate with any other third-party servers or services.
There are no cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, advertising, or any other form of tracking.
No account or sign-in is required to use LaunchPad.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share any user data with third parties.
LaunchPad does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. Since LaunchPad does not collect any personal data from any user, no special provisions are necessary.
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Continued use of LaunchPad after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
